Internal linking for your SEO

An internal hyperlink is a link from your site to another page. It is not the same as an external hyperlink, which would direct someone to another website.

A link in your website’s menu is an example of an external link. Another example of an internal link is a link in your blog post that takes you to a product or service page.

Users and search engines both use internal linking to find content on your website.

To navigate your site, a user will use links. To find and compile the information on your site, search engines use links.

Google is a search engine that values internal links. Google will look for links on websites to find out more information about your content. This allows Google to rank your content higher in search results.

Google may be more likely to consider a page, or post, that has a large number of links linking to it. Both internal and external links are important here. This is why it’s so important to have an effective internal linking strategy.

Your website pages and blog posts should link to other relevant content areas.

If you were a plumber, for instance, you might write an article about geyser timers on your website. This article will explain how geyser timing works, what they cost, typical electricity savings, etc.

If you have additional content about reducing electricity bills on the website, you could add an external link to those articles (e.g. an article on heat pumps or another on geyser covers).

Your geyser timer article visitor will be more satisfied if they are given options to read further. This encourages them to spend more time on the website and helps them find ways to reduce their electricity bills. It can also help them choose your company instead of the others.

Search engines are also benefited. They will be able to follow the links to see related content.

These internal links have a tremendous impact on search engines right now. As part of our SEO campaign for our clients, we create regular content and add external links every month so that clients can get to page 1 of Google.

Your main goal with any internal link strategy is to ensure your most important content gets seen by your readers as well as search engines.

Spend some time looking through the pages on your website. Think about the pages that are most important to someone who is looking for information. These pages should be your first priority, as well as any high-value blog posts.

Each of these pages or blog posts should have internal links. You should link to a specific topic so that the reader can continue reading.

This should be done when you create new content. To ensure that you are getting the most from your website’s content, you can set aside an additional hour every month.

A good internal link strategy will help you to make your readers more satisfied and allow them to spend more time on your website. Your website will be easier for search engines to comprehend and give you the best chance of ranking higher in search results.

As part of our SEO services, we also offer internal linking strategies.
